Publishers C.H. BECK partners with our Legal-Tech Venture, edicted.
The C.H. Beck Publishing Group of Munich has as of November 2016 partnered with the Bremen-based Legal-Tech provider, edicted. GmbH.
The Beck Group, parent company to the publishers C.H. BECK, Nomos and Vahlen, is the largest legal publisher in Germany.
Edicted., a German Legal-Tech pioneer, offers innovative new services for lawyers.
Among other things, edicted. has been able to develop a software which can analyze the juridical profile of users (from law students to professors), and evaluate their level of legal experience and degree of specialization. In comparison to more traditional platforms and internet marketplaces, this system substantially simplifies the process of finding a specialized attorney for businesses, consumers and law firms alike. For the lawyers registered on the platform, the network is also an important job-search tool.
With its involvement in edicted., Beck has for the first time taken a stake in a Legal-Tech company. All hitherto existing shareholders, among whom our partner, Dr. Jochen Brandhoff, will remain involved in edicted. This partnership will benefit the Legal-Tech startup considerably – promoting its growth and furthering its continuing development.
In cooperation with Beck, edicted. plans to relaunch in 2017. The original partners and Beck have, however, decided remain silent about the details of their plans for the time being.
